Imagine you could build a resilient, beautiful shelter with the money you have now, that can produce its own water, electricity, and is fully upgradable when the time comes. — You can!
Introducing the Tiny House Pod design, created by designer and builder Morgan Caraway: an architectural shelter adaptable to any climate, versatile for nearly unlimited uses, and thoughtfully engineered to be built on any budget. (Solar electricity and rainwater harvesting systems are modular and optional, tailored to your location and needs.)
Conventional housing traps people in decades of debt before they can even break ground. The Tiny House Pod breaks that cycle with an adaptable, phased building approach that lets you live comfortably today and expand tomorrow.
Rooftop catchment geometry and filtration can optionally be integrated into the pod's structure whenever you are ready, providing clean water independence tailored to your property and rainfall patterns.
The pod is engineered to easily accommodate rooftop solar panels and battery storage as an optional upgrade. Power lighting, essentials, and ventilation without being tied to the municipal electrical grid.
Start with a core shelter shell on a modest budget. You can also enclose the roofed area for an immediate tiny house upgrade. You can add optional utilities, extend decks, or connect additional modules as your needs, time, and finances grow.
Conventional tiny homes routinely cost upwards of $60,000 to over $100,000. The Tiny House Pod is engineered so the average cost is around 1/14th the cost of a standard tiny house (about 7%). Base builds include full white pine siding inside and out (safely figured at $1.00 a board foot), smart dimensional framing, and phased expansions.
Remember, these pods are infinitely upgradable and expandable. This base price is just a starting point for the basic features, but the sky is the limit! Custom storage, shelving, or cabinets can be built below the pod and inside of the pod (not shown in images), and the pod can also be custom finished with insulated cordwood, bottle walls, cob, and more for an increased fee.
